Terms of Use

1) Who we are

SlateViolet ("SlateViolet," "we," "us," or "our") operates SlateViolet Reserve, an adult-only, Texas-first private matchmaking program. Legal entity formation is in progress; until a registered business address is published, official notices may be sent by email to kyle@slateviolet.com. When we form an LLC, these Terms will automatically novate to that entity.

2) Eligibility & adult-only policy

• You must be 18+ to use our site or apply for the program. We may require age verification and government ID before admission.
• Providing false age, identity, or eligibility info is a material breach; we may terminate access and retain non-refundable administrative fees.

3) Safety disclosures & Texas notice

NOTICE TO TEXAS MEMBERS: WE DO NOT CONDUCT CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS ON EVERY MEMBER BEFORE ALLOWING MEMBER-TO-MEMBER COMMUNICATION.

Safety tips: (a) People can misrepresent identity online; (b) do not share home/work address, last name, or financial info early; (c) if meeting, tell a friend, meet in public, and travel separately; (d) trust your instincts and report concerns to us promptly.

4) Recording consent (initial interview only)

With your express consent, we may record your initial interview for profile-building and quality review. We do not record member-to-member calls or dates. We may generate a transcript using third-party processors. You may decline recording; doing so may affect candidacy.

5) Identity verification & biometrics

We may invite you to complete ID verification (e.g., government ID plus selfie) via a secure third-party provider (such as Stripe Identity). By proceeding, you consent to the capture and processing of identifiers/biometrics solely for verification. We do not sell biometric data and instruct destruction within a reasonable period, not later than one year after the purpose ends. See our Privacy Notice for details.

6) Communications & consent (email/SMS)

• Email: By applying, you agree we may email you about candidacy, program updates, and (with consent) marketing. Unsubscribe anytime.
• SMS: With your express written consent, we may send automated texts about candidacy/program. Message/data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Consent not required to buy.
• We may contact you via social platforms you provide (e.g., LinkedIn, Instagram) strictly for application follow-ups; we are not affiliated with those platforms.

7) User conduct & prohibited uses

• No harassment, hate, threats, scams, or illegal conduct.
• Absolutely no solicitation of paid sexual services or use of the service to facilitate prostitution or trafficking. Violations result in immediate termination and referral to law enforcement where required.
• Do not upload unlawful content or others' personal data without consent.

8) No professional advice; no guarantees

We provide matchmaking and coaching for informational purposes only—not therapy, medical, legal, or financial advice. We do not guarantee matches, outcomes, or timelines.

9) Intellectual property & license

We retain all rights in our site, brand, and materials. You grant us a non-exclusive license to use your submitted info and media solely to operate and improve the service (including quality review and anonymized analytics), consistent with our Privacy Notice.

10) Disclaimers; limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties. We are not liable for users' conduct or off-platform interactions. Our aggregate liability is limited to fees you paid to us in the 12 months before the claim, excluding willful misconduct, gross negligence, and bodily injury where such limits are not allowed.

11) Arbitration, class-action waiver, venue

• Arbitration: Except for small-claims matters, you and we agree to binding, individual arbitration (JAMS, consumer rules). No class or representative actions.
• Opt-out: You may opt out within 30 days of accepting these Terms by emailing "Arbitration Opt-Out" to kyle@slateviolet.com with your name and contact info.
• Governing law & venue: Texas law governs. If arbitration is inapplicable, exclusive venue is in Texas courts.

12) Right to cancel (3-business-day cooling-off)

For any paid consumer agreement with us, you may cancel within 3 business days of purchase for a full refund of service fees to the original payment method. Non-refundable administrative fees (e.g., ID verification, background check) may be retained if disclosed at purchase.

Death/disability/move: If you die, become permanently disabled, or move >50 miles from our service area without comparable service available, you (or your estate) may cancel and obtain a pro-rata refund of unused service fees.

13) Changes; termination

We may update these Terms; material changes will be posted with a new effective date. We may suspend or terminate access for violations or safety concerns.
